As
leaders and proponents of an activity which is regarded as
educational but also competitive, we seek to find a balance
between hiding our "play book" and sharing it with
other coaches/teams. However, here are some resources
our membership has thought important to share:

MSHSL Duo Rules
Change |
At the MSCA meeting in September
2007 in Rochester, a motion was passed to
support a
change in the rules regarding the Duo
Interpretation event. The motion passed
unanimously and will be implemented for the 2008
Subsection, Section and State Tournaments.

Financial
Support for MN Speech Teams wanting to GROW! |
The Minnesota Speech Coaches
Association is excited to offer an opportunity
to help "Grow Speech" in Minnesota. MSCA has
funds available to help financially strapped
programs and coaches. If you are a coach (or
know of a coach) who can't attend CTAM because
of district financial restraints, consider
completing
an application and mailing it to MSCA
President Cheryl Neidt for MSCA executive
committee approval. These funds may also be
available for needs other than coach
development.

| Mentorship
Program! |
If
you are a new or inexperienced Speech coach in
Minnesota, and would like to be partnered with
a more experienced Speech Mentor, please

answer your questions about category rules,
finding competitive pieces, securing judges,
attending tournaments, and more.

Coach who is willing to serve as a Mentor,
